Thunderjet Speed Brake Perforated

The perforated speed brake is the so-called Swiss Cheese speed brake because of the pattern of holes which differentiate it from the "early" slotted speed brake. Although the slotted speed brake was generally used on the "early" Thunderjets, and the perforated speed brake was generally used on the "late" Thunderjets, they were interchangeable, and many aircraft were field fitted with either style as parts availability dictated. Also, many times, the slotted speed brake was fitted to F-84G aircraft sent to NATO countries.
